The North Bedroom

The concept for this bedroom evolves around the history of the family's coat of arms and their monarch roots. The colour palette that was used was inspired by one of Queen Elizabeth's portrait when she was younger - blues and reds create a royal atmosphere for Lord Montagu's guests and visitors of Beaulieu Palace House.

The bespoke wallpaper and fabrics created for the bedroom where inspired by the English architect, designer, and artist Augustus Pugin. This allowed the style of the bedroom to harmonize with the style of the stately home. Adding bespoke features such as the wallpaper, fabrics, ceiling plaster work, and the canopy bed, provided the client a more meaningful space that can be handed down to future generations.

The Blue Bedroom & Ensuite

The concept for the Blue bedroom was born by mixing some aspects of the ground's story of being a hunting lodge, the Montagu's Scottish roots, and Lord Montagu's father, 3rd Baron of Montagu, legacy founding the English Heritage trust.

The mood and colour palette was directly influenced by the idea of creating a hunting-lodge-like atmosphere, but without being so rustic and heavy for the style of Palace House.

The bespoke elements in this room include wallpapers portraying a traditional deer hunting version of a Toile De Jouy, a bespoke family tartan fabric created by combining two of the Montagu's predecessors Scottish clans' tartans, and weaving patterns created by overlapping the English Heritage logo.  Another custom feature is the panelling and shelves unit behind the bed, which was inspired by the Montagu bridge in Scotland found by Dalkeith Palace.
